And a good time was had by all...
In
the summer of 1994, roughly 35 GESS grads from 1984 joined for a
blur of a weekend that everyone agreed was very "down home," relaxed
and fun. The circle was expanded by new family and friends, as well
as by a few former teachers.
We self catered a dinner and dance at the Oceola Fish and Game Club's
clubhouse, largely organized by Kristin and Stacey. We didn't let
the DJ go home till at least 4 a.m. - he noted at the time that
it was his first experience of having absolutely everyone dancing
right until the not-so-bitter end.
Organized
events like this spilled over into unorganized (but not disorganized)
and spontaneous activities, including a day at the beach (very kid
friendly), wee hours at the beach, wee hours in Jayson's pool, a
pub visit, a Sunday morning breakfast at the Winfield Shopping Centre,
a Sunday evening get together at the Capri and...well, it really
was a blur.
Who says it can't be as much fun just this side of 40?
